21-year-old man killed in Wednesday evening crash in Howell

    A 21-year-old man was killed and two others suffered minor injuries in a Wednesday evening crash in Howell.

    Joseph Gonsalves, 20, of Howell was traveling east on Alexander Avenue around 10:06 p.m. when he lost control of his vehicle as he was attempting to negotiate a curve to the left, police said in a release. His vehicle then left the roadway and struck several trees before coming to rest.

    Gonsalves and his passengers, Ronald Tremblay, Jr., 21, of Howell and Brandon Roselli, 21, of Manalapan were entrapped in the vehicle, requiring extrication, according to police.

    Tremblay, who was seated in the back and not wearing a seat belt, suffered significant head trauma and was transported to Kimball Medical Center in Lakewood, where he later succumbed to his injuries, police said. Roselli, the front seat passenger, and Gonsalves were treated for minor injuries and released from Kimball Medical Center.

    The Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office, Monmouth County SCART, Southard Fire Department, and Howell First Aid assisted with the investigation.
