Newark Garden Tour 2015, June 6th

Enjoy a self-guided tour of Newark gardens, and experience how art and creativity can shape landscapes in both small and large spaces! The Newark Garden Tour seeks to present ideas and solutions on how an individual can create a stunning garden without a big budget or a professional staff, and instead rely on DIY techniques. The tour will include artists painting on location at several gardens, as well as a performance by Serenata Strings at one of the houses. Newark Arts Alliance.

  

Garden Crafts Uncorked: Wildflower Candle Holder, June 12th

Use a recycled glass container to create a wonderful candle holder. Express your inner naturalist as you decorate your glass with splendid dried wildflowers pressed by Mt. Cuba Center staff. William D. White and the Murals of Delaware, June 6th

This lecture will discuss mural making and their conservation in the region over the 20th and now 21st centuries. This varied trio of points of view will review the history of murals in the region, the conservation and preservation of public murals as well as an introduction to the Mural Art Program, among America’s most successful public art projects. Basic Framing Workshop, June 11th

Open to all ages. This hands on workshop is sponsored by Holly Branch. Many tips and tricks will be given. Bring in a frame from home and we’ll show you how to wire it. Dover Public Library.

Milton Summer Concert Series: The United States Army Field Band, June 10th

Join The U.S. Army Field Band & Soldiers’ Chorus as they tell the story of America’s Army. Together, the Concert Band and Soldiers’ Chorus offer one of the most diverse programs by any concert ensemble, featuring marches and patriotic favorites, orchestral masterworks, new works for band, a capella vocal arrangements, Broadway musicals, opera, and much more.
