Big the Musical, December 27th & 28th
The classic and beloved 1987 motion picture fantasy that featured Tom Hanks in his first big role now bursts onto the stage in the Tony nominated, unforgettable musical experience. Wilmington Drama League.
New Year’s Eve with the David Bromberg Quintet, December 31st
He’s played with everyone, he’s toured everywhere, he can lead a raucous big band or hold an audience silent with a solo acoustic blues. With the release of Try Me One More Time, his 2007 solo return to the studio, David continued his musical revitalization, playing shows on his own, backed by (and supporting) Angel Band, his own David Bromberg Quartet, and reunions of the David Bromberg Big Band, the configuration depending on the circumstance. His most recent release is 2011’s Use Me. World Cafe Live at the Queen.

2014 Winter Festival: Around the World in 180 Minutes, December 31st
Join us for a “Noon Year’s Eve” celebration on December 31, from 9 am-noon. Tickets are not sold on the day of the event, so purchase yours by 12/30. Kent County Public Library.
Delaware in the War of 1812: A “Most Distressing War”, January 3rd
The year 1814 would see the War of 1812 enter into its second year. The previous year had witnessed the imposition of a seaborne blockade and active naval campaigning across the Chesapeake Bay and the Delaware Valley region. Delawareans were active participants in these events and beyond. In 1814, they would continue to aid in the national defense, and would respond to new threats brought about by this destructive war. This presentation will examine the period of 1814 through to the peace of 1815. Delaware Public Archives.

Winner of an Audience Award for Best Feature at the Austin Gay & Lesbian Film Festival this witty, female- buddy comedy has garnered laughs and applause as it’s played to audiences across the world.
