A Master Players tradition that brings the holiday spirit to the community, the holiday pops concert will feature the legendary Canadian Brass as they travel from Canada to Newark. As a special holiday treat co-presented by the UD Institute for Global Studies, the evening will feature virtuoso brass and holiday music arranged for the prestigious ensemble. There’s no better way to get in the holiday season! The ensembles of the WCC celebrate the holidays in the stellar setting of First and Central Presbyterian Church (1101 N Market St., Wilmington, DE 19801) . This year, WCC performs holiday favorites from stage and screen, and the audience joins in singing traditional carols. Join us an hour before and afterwards for some treats and our annual “Candlelight Shop” where you can find some unique gifts. Advance ticket purchase is recommended.

Based on the the classic 1946, Academy Award nominated Frank Capra film starring James Stewart and Donna Reed, this adaptation by Doug Rand truly is warm and wholesome holiday entertainment for the entire family. The Ballet Theatre of Dover brings this beloved tale for all ages to the Schwartz Center for the Arts. The story tells of how a young girl risks her life to save an ugly Nutcracker doll and breaks an age-old spell that transforms him into a handsome prince who takes her on a magnificent journey to the Kingdom of Sweets. The story unfolds into a whirlwind of dances to Tschaikovsky’s immortal music…from battling rats, swirling snowflakes, dancing Candy Canes, a magical Gingerbread house, and the beautiful Sugar Plum Fairy! A holiday tradition at the Schwartz Center for the Arts!
