The 2012 Philadelphia Folk Festival began its three-day run on a farm in Schwenksville, Pa. This is also the first time there wasn’t a formal intermission between the afternoon and evening performances. NewsWorks photographer Howard Pitkow is covering the Festival, which ends Sunday night.
As he sends more photos in I’ll try to post them as soon as possible here. In this slideshow you will see only photos from August 17, 2012.
If you’re headed out there this week using GPS, the organizers suggest using this address 1323 Salford Station Road, Schwenksville, PA. Also there is an online ride-share board that you can use.
Also you can listen to some of performances live over the internet this year. For the first time in its 51 year history, The Philadelphia Folk Festival is being streamed. To listen, go to iRadioPhilly.com and choose the Philly Folk Fest station. You can also download a FREE App to your iPhone, iPad or Android.
