200 hold candlelight vigil for slain Pa. mother, daughter

About 200 people held a candlelight vigil for a Philadelphia-area mother and her young daughter who were murdered.

The Bucks County Courier Times reports that the Friday night vigil was held for 22-year-old Ebony Talley and her four-year-old daughter R’Mani Rankins, who died Monday at their Levittown apartment.

Officials say the mother, who was seven months pregnant, had been stabbed multiple times and died at the scene. Police believe a fire was set to hide evidence, and the toddler, who was stabbed at least once, was alive when she was taken from the building but later died at St. Mary Medical Center.

Police say no one has been arrested but they have at least one person of interest in the case.
