17-year-old suspect charged in Delaware teenager’s shooting death

A Wilmington teenager faces murder charges in connection with the recent shooting death of another teenager in the 300-block of New Castle Avenue.

Wilmington Police say 17-year-old Deshawn Dorsett turned himself in to police Wednesday evening.  He faces charges of first-degree murder, possession of a firearm during commission of a felony, possession of a firearm by a person prohibited and carrying a concealed deadly weapon.  17-year-old Larry Parks of Bear was shot to death last Saturday afternoon.  He was found lying on the street and died of a gunshot wound to the chest.  Larry attended Pencader Charter High School, where his classmates will have the opportunity to attend his funeral Friday.  Dorsett is being held at the New Castle County Detention Center without bail.
