1 dead in Atlantic County, New Jersey house fire

    One person died last night in a house fire in Atlantic County, New Jersey.

    Update, 12:45 p.m.: The Press of Atlantic City is reporting State Police have identified the victim as 24-year-old Brendan Gormley. According to the report, Gormley, a Buena Regional High School graduate in 2005, had been studying at DePaul University.

    Gormley’s mother, who was home at the time of the fire, was taken to the hospital as a precautionary measure. A firefighter was also taken to a nearby hospital for smoke inhalation.

    The Daily Journal reports the fire sparked around 6:45 p.m. Friday night in a home on Tereck Road in Buena Vista.
