It’s endorsement season and Mayor Nutter and D.A. Williams are busy

With elections come endorsements.  Today Philadelphia’s District Attorney endorsed a City Council candidate: just the latest in a series made by the District Attorney and the Mayor.  D.A. Seth Williams has endorsed City Council candidates Kenyatta Johnson, Bobby Henon, Cindy Bass, Andy Toy, and now Maria Quinones Sanchez as well in an announcement outside the Fraternal Order of Police Building near Broad and Spring Garden Streets,”I’m very glad to join John McNesby and the men and women of the Fraternal Order of Police of Lodge 5 again as we try to help shape the City Council of Philadelphia to ensure that we have Councilmembers that will support law enforcement,” said Williams.  “That will ensure we have the resources that we need.”Mayor Michael Nutter has endorsed City Council candidates Mark Squilla, Kenyatta Johnson, Martin Bednarek, Maria Quinones Sanchez, Cindy Bass, and Marian Tasco.There will be at least five new Councilmembers–filling the seats of retiring incumbents.
