Lynne Cox on open water swimming; and Meghan Wren on swimming across the Delaware Bay

Listen

Lynne Cox has swum across the Cook Strait, the Strait of Magellan, Lake Titicaca, even the frozen Bering Strait. She’s considered one of the world’s greatest open water swimmers. But why and how does she swim in these treacherous waters facing sharks, jellyfish, even hypothermia? We’ll find out when she comes in to talk to Marty about her swimming feats, her drive, and her unique body which allows her to go where no one else has gone before. Cox has written a new book for open water swimmers called, Open Water Swimming Manual: An Expert’s Survival Guide for Triathletes and Open Water Swimmers. We’ll also talk to MEGHAN WREN, Founder and Executive Director of Bayshore Center at Bivalve, who just completed a 13.1 mile swim across the Delaware Bay from Port Mahon, Delaware to Fortescue, New Jersey.
