Call it a saxophone colossus — on Friday, the famed Philadelphia-based Prism Quartet will present world premieres of new saxophone quartets at the Curtis Institute of Music.

The program includes a composition by Montgomery County native Julia Wolfe, who won the 2015 Pulitzer Prize for “Anthracite Fields,” commissioned by the Mendelssohn Club.

NewsWorks Tonight’s Dave Heller spoke with Wolfe and Prism’s tenor saxophonist Matthew Levy.
