Chester ninth-grader earns national girls coding scholarship

    The news coming out of Chester, Pennsylvania, is often bleak — tales of failing schools, poverty, and fiscal mismanagement. That’s why it’s especially heartening to introduce Emily Yu.

    She’s a ninth-grade student at Bayard Rustin School in Chester who won a national scholarship that may launch her toward a career in coding. She spoke with NewsWorks Tonight host Dave Heller.
