Spring is Fast Approaching

Will Punxsutawney Phil see his shadow this year? Well, it doesn’t really matter, because despite our favorite ground hog spring will definitely arrive on March 20th. This is due to the earth arriving at a particular position on March 20th in its motion around the sun.  Also, there are only three shuttle missions remaining. The Discovery shuttle is scheduled for launch February 24th, shuttle Endeavor is scheduled for April 19th and the final shuttle mission is scheduled for June 28th. This will be the last mission for the shuttle program after 30 years and 135 missions.  But don’t despair International Space Station is going strong. And don’t miss what’s in the night sky this week. All this and more on this week’s Sky Talk.[audio: st20110131.mp3]
