Pennsylvania’s Voter ID law back in court

Yesterday, for the second time in two months, Pennsylvania’s controversial voter ID law was debated before Commonwealth Court judge Robert Simpson. Judge Simpson previously heard arguments about the law in August and failed to issue a preliminary injunction, so opponents of the law appealed his decision to the Pennsylvania Supreme Court, which last week kicked the case back to Judge Simpson, who asked Tuesday for input from both sides about what an injunction could include. We’ll hear about yesterday’s proceedings, changes in procedures for voters in Pennsylvania to get the required IDs, and the national context of voter ID laws being enacted and challenged around the country.
