NewsWorks Tonight Music

Our theme music and most of our musical bridges were written by musicians and bands from the Delaware Valley. With this much talent in our own backyard – why would we look elsewhere?

The theme music for NewsWorks Tonight was written by BC Camplight

Fronted by Brian Christinzio, BC Camplight is a Philadelphia indie rock band that has gained international acclaim since its debut in 2005. Once captain of his high school football team, Christinizio also tried his luck as an amateur boxer, but always returned to his first love, music. We’re glad he did; his catchy, poppy tunes caught our ears during the Newsworks Tonight Music Contest, which he won among 25 strong entries.

His tracks were produced by Weathervane Music

Other contributing bands:We received to many great submissions during our music contest that we asked bands if we could use their tunes even though they didn’t win.

Graciously, many of them offered us their music, and we’re using it. Here is where you can find these great bands:

    Buried Beds

    East Hundred

    Hezekiah Jones

    National Eye

    Persona

    Shawn Kilroy

    Taggart

    Up The Chain

Please keep the music coming! We would like to continue to use music produced by local artists on the show. If you have something you’d like to submit, please contact Maiken Scott at mscott@whyy.org
