Journalist ASNE SEIERSTAD on Chechnya 15 years after war

Norwegian journalist ASNE SEIERSTAD began her career in journalism covering the brutal war in Chechnya in the 1990’s. In 2006, she returned to the region to see how the conflict changed Chechnya and the children who grew up surrounded by the conflict. She recounts her experiences in a new book, “The Angel of Grozny: Orphans of a Forgotten War.” Her first book, the “Bookseller of Kabul” was an account of life in Afghanistan before, during and after the removal of the Taliban.
