Jackie Robinson Day, then the democratic presidential debate

Listen 00:48:47

Guests: Jonathan Eig, Harold Jackson, Will Bunch

Today is Jackie Robinson Day – the day that famed baseball player Jackie Robinson made his major league debut. Today also marks the day that the City of Philadelphia will formally apologize to Robinson “for the racism he faced as a player while visiting Philadelphia” as well as recognize his legacy. We’ll check in with author JONATHAN EIG, author of Opening Day: The Story of Jackie Robinson’s First Season. Then, we’ll discuss the debate held on Thursday night between Bernie Sanders and Hillary Clinton.  Philadelphia Inquirer editorial page editor HAROLD JACKSON and Daily News senior writer WILL BUNCH will give us their takes on what the candidates said, the effect the debate will have, and the state of the race for the White House.
