First for August 25, 2017

    Star Campus update
The University of Delaware STAR Campus continues to grow into a state of the art operation for the school and community partners. So much so that it’s hard to remember what it looked like as the old Chrysler plant. In this week’s First Look, we’ll take you on site where new structures are being built and existing ones are running out of space.

    First Person: Sen. Chris Coons
First person this week is U.S. Senator Chris Coons. From the President’s new plan on Afghanistan to his latest address to the nation, Coons shares his thoughts on the President and his policies.

    Confederates and the Union

In the aftermath of Charlottesville, Delaware Governor John Carney has suggested that the Confederate flag should never fly on public property. Delaware’s connection to the South during the Civil War has been well documented. In 2013 we took a look at that connection for the 150th anniversary of the Battle of Gettysburg. Here’s what we found.

    First Experience: Yolanda Chetwynd
We all tell stories about our lives, our experiences, and our families. Yolanda Chetwynd is the Delaware Division of the Arts Masters Fellow in Painting Award winner for 2017. Through her art Yolanda wanted to tell the very personal story of the survival of her husband’s family. We visited Yolanda’s Newark studio to see the work, it’s our First Experience this week.
