DOUG STANTON – Horse Soldiers

In early October 2001, twelve members of the U.S. Special Forces flew secretly to Afghanistan prepared to fight the Taliban with guerrilla warfare, but they did not expect to fight from on top of small, ill-fitting horses that were presented to them by members of the Northern Alliance. Our guest DOUG STANTON has written a book on this chapter of the early stages of the War on Terrorism called, “Horse Soldiers: The Extraordinary Story of a Band of U.S. Soldiers who Rode to Victory in Afghanistan.” Listen to the mp3
