Radio Times in Review: poetry edition

Listen 00:49:46

Guests: Edward Hirsch, Frank Sherlock, and Gerald Stern

Today we’ll spend an hour listening to Marty’s conversations with poets. We’ll hear from poet and critic EDWARD HIRSCH to get his take on poems about love which he explore in his collection On Love. We’ll also hear from Lambertville-based poet GERALD STERN who joined us on the show in 2003 after publishing his memoir What I Can’t Bear Losing. Stern was awarded the Pulitzer Prize for Poetry in 1990, received a National Book Award for Poetry in 1998, and was named New Jersey’s first poet laureate of New Jersey in 2000. But first, we’ll hear from FRANK SHERLOCK, whose poetry focuses on the different communities of Philadelphia.
