Listen 00:48:44

Guests: Kathryn Ott Lovell, Michael Froehlich, Zora and Sarah Pinsky

It’s Springtime and that means families are spending a lot of time at the playground. But which one? In this hour of Radio Times we’re heading to the jungle gym. We’ll check in with KATHRYN OTT LOVELL, the Commissioner of Parks and Recreation for the city of Philadelphia, for an update on funding and future renovations for playgrounds across the city. And we’ll chat with a father-daughter team who set out to visit every playground in Philadelphia. From Fitzpatrick in the Northeast to Capitolo in South Philly, MICHAEL FROEHLICH and his 7-year old daughter ZORA FROEHLICH GILBERTSON crisscrossed the city exploring the playgrounds’ character, quirks and cool equipment. Think playgrounds are just for kids? Not always. We’ll talk with SARAH PINSKY, the Director of Account Management at the national non-profit KaBOOM!, about a recent project she ran to build “multigenerational playgrounds” across the country, including in Harrisburg and with CLAIRE LAVER, Director of Strategic Partnerships and Projects for both Urban Roots and the Make the World Better Foundation.
