Zoe Strauss accused of copying New Orleans photographer’s work

There’s a chance photographer Zoe Strauss will be sued by a New Orleans photographer who says Strauss copied one of his photos.

Strauss, known now for her series of billboards posted around the city depicting faces of Philadelphia, is accused of taking a photo in New Orleans that closely resembles one Matthew White published in 2006.

Philadelphia magazine’s Victor Fiorillo talked to both photographers, who have different views of the situation, naturally. White says he feels as though he work has been intruded on and put up for display by Strauss.

Strauss insists the photos are different, the subject is interesting and worth of shooting and that she’s got no ill will toward White.
