Working man

A Philadelphia man was charged today for defrauding the Social Security Administration and the Pennsylvania Department of Labor and Industry.

Larry Dupree, Jr., 45, received disability insurance and unemployment compensation benefits while for approximately eight years while he continued to work and collect a paycheck.

Dupree cost the commonwealth more than $120,000 and now faces two to two-and-a-half years in prison and $3.5 million in fines.

The investigation by the Social Security Administration Office of the Inspector General and the U.S. Department of Labor Office of the Inspector General also found Dupree had falsified government documents and provided false Social Security numbers in his claims.
