Work begins tonight on roads around City Hall
Your drive around City Hall will probably still be hazardous two weeks from now, but it won’t be because of the road surface. South Penn Square, East Penn Square, 15th Street and J.F.K. Boulevard adjacent to City Hall are tapped for roadwork.
Beginning tonight, work will take place during non-peak hours for what’s expected to be two weeks of work to remove the asphalt, adjust manholes, repave the streets and paint new traffic lines.
Expect some slow-downs Sundays through Fridays from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. and on Mondays through Fridays from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
The work, scheduled for completion April 29, is part of a $7,885,088 project to resurface 24 miles of state highway in Philadelphia.
