Woman first in Pa., to file civil suit under 2014 human trafficking statute

    A teenage girl who was enslaved and forced to perform sexual acts with men over a nearly two year long period at the Roosevelt Inn in Northeast Philadelphia filed a civil suit this month against the motel’s owner and operator. 

    Attorney Nadeem Bezar with the Kline and Specter law firm in Philadelphia is representing her in what is considered to be the first suit under Pennsylvania’s 2014 human trafficking statute.
