Woman douses cats with ammonia in West Philly

In an effort to get rid of the neighborhood felines on the 4800 block of Westminster Street in West Philadelphia, a woman allegedly doused three cats with ammonia, killing one and injuring two others.

The SPCA arrested the woman and took the injured cats to its headquarters for treatment, reports NBC10.

“If people have an issue with cats in their neighborhood there are agencies and organizations that can help,” said George Bengal, head of humane law enforcement for the PSPCA. “This is not the proper way to deal with animals. People shouldn’t resort to cruel methods.”
