Woman charged for lying about sexual assualt by Lower Merion police officer

A Montgomery County woman faces perjury and other charges for allegedly lying about being sexually assaulted by a Lower Merion police officer.

Gabrielle P. Drexler, 26, announced at a May Lower Merion board meeting than she’d been assaulted by an officer. But as the Main Line Times reports, a grand jury has determined Drexler lied about the assault and manufactured emails she said the accused officer sent her.

Montco District Attorney Risa Vetri Ferman announced the charges at an afternoon press conference.
