With ribbon-cutting event, the Nicetown Court II development is open for living [gallery]

Last September, ground was broken for the $19 million Nicetown Court II development on the 4400 block of Germantown Ave.

On Wednesday, a ceremonial ribbon-cutting event marked the culmination of a years-long effort to bring more affordable housing to the city’s Nicetown section and transform a long-dilapidated block.

Mayor Michael Nutter, Eighth District City Councilwoman Cindy Bass and Kenneth Gamble, whose Universal Companies was involved in backing the project near Wayne Junction, were among those in attendance.
