With latest Camden murder, eight more homicides this year than last

    A Thursday homicide in Camden brings the city’s toll for the year to 42 — eight more than this time last year, the Inquirer reports.

    Four people were killed over last weekend, and the city’s murder count is at 42, not including police-involved deaths.The city’s first murder of the year came in mid-January, not long after the city laid off some of its police and firefighters. Many have been reinstated, some through state and federal grants.
