Winter weather warning, up to eight inches of snow expected

The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm warning for Philadelphia from Tuesday afternoon through Wednesday morning.

Officials are predicting five to eight inches of snowfall, which they expect to start around 2 p.m. Tuesday, become heavier Tuesday night and taper off around 10 a.m. Wednesday morning.

Drivers are advised to use caution on roads because of low visibility and blowing winds.

NewsWorks wants to see your snow photos from Roxborough, Manayunk and East Falls. So, before grabbing that shovel, pull out your smartphone or digital camera and snap a few photos of the winter wonderland on your block.  All photos can be sent to mpinto@whyy.org.
