Wilmington inmate escapes by jumping fence

Delaware officials say an inmate jumped a fence at the Plummer Community Corrections Center and escaped.

The Department of Correction says 24-year-old Artezz Finney was seen climbing a perimeter fence at the Wilmington facility on Monday evening. Finney, whose last known address was in Wilmington, was last seen wearing tan pants and a black jacket.
Finney began serving a six-month sentence for second-degree robbery on Jan. 11 at the facility for offenders who are transitioning back into the community. Correction officials say inmates held there are allowed to leave to go to work, seek jobs or attend approved treatment sessions.

Officers continue to search for Finney and anyone with information about his whereabouts is asked to call 800-542-9524 or local police.
