WILMAPCO extends public review period

The Wilmington Area Planning Council has announced it will extend the public comment period for the Transportation Improvement Program. The final review date has been pushed from today to March 2, with a public meeting scheduled next month.

The four-year TIP list of transportation priorities will focus on infrastructure and safety concerns, a release from WILMAPCO states. Lower priority projects have been deferred due to funding limits.

I-95 interchange improvements at State Route 1 and US 202, the US 301 expressway, and rail track expansion in New Castle County are among the items at the top of the $2.1 million project list.

DelDOT and WILMAPCO will host a public comment hearing Feb. 28 at the WILMAPCO facility in Newark from 4 p.m to 7 p.m.
