Williams commends Rigali’s call for further investigation

What a difference a few days can make. District Attorney Seth Williams is commending Cardinal Justin Rigali for Rigali’s announcement today that the archdiocese will further investigate abuse claims against more priests.
“The Cardinal’s strong words and recent efforts are the correct steps at this time,” Williams said in a statement. Rigali announced earlier today the appointment of a Ballard Spahr lawyer (not Ed Rendell) to help the diocese review cases against 37 priests. Three priests have been placed on administrative leave.
