WHYY Connections Festival begins with jazz performance, movie screening

In honor of Labor Day, Philadelphia, the arts  and the end of summer, WHYY is hosting a free riverfront party this weekend with help from the Delaware River Waterfront Corporation.

WHYY Connections Festival, the two-day music and movie fest begins Friday night with a Hot Club of Philadelphia jazz performance and a screening of Ken Burns’ new documentary, Prohibition.

Some of the weekend events are for WHYY members, but there’s plenty for the general public to enjoy, like kids activities, live paintings and more — all right on along the river.

Check out the Connections Festival website for more details on what to expect, including a performance by Dr. Dog.
