West Philly streets close as ‘Penn Christmas’ approaches

Christmas comes just once a year. Unless you stop by the University of Pennsylvania after the students move out every spring.

“Penn Christmas” is almost upon us. West Philly Local reports Spruce Street between 34th and 40th today and tomorrow while Penn students pack it up and move it out. That includes bike and bus traffic.

The fun part comes later when the public can rifle through the students’ discarded items.

In the past, Arts & Culture reporter Peter Crimmins has gone Dumpster diving to find furniture, clothes and a hard drive chock full of information.
