West Philadelphia fire displaces residents, one arrest reported

    For the third time in a month, the Red Cross’ Southeastern Pennsylvania chapter has provided assistance to West Philadelphia fire victims. The latest are residents of a building at 45th and Walnut Streets.

    The two-alarm fire broke out last evening. As of closing time last night, the Red Cross had assisted 20 people, 13 of whom spent the night in the Red Cross House. others received assistance for food, clothing and other necessities.

    The West Philly Local has video from the scene, including a man who was pulled from a ladder and arrested. His involvement in unclear. We’re gathering more details from the Fire Department.
