Weekend tour to showcase Germantown’s community gardens
Walk, bike, drive or roller blade and join the Penn Knox Neighbors Association on Sunday for a tour of the community gardens of Germantown.
Participants will tour six distinctive gardens, which harvest food and community in the neighborhood. A host will be at each site to share the history of the garden and allow visitors to explore the space.
Among the gardens selected are Church Lane Garden, Mastery Pickett Community Garden, Old Tennis Court Farm Garden, Hansberry Garden and Nature Center, West Rockland Street Garden and the Germantown Kitchen Garden.
The free tour will begin at 9 a.m. at the Church Lane Garden at 234 Church Lane. Parking is available behind the Germantown Historical Society on Church Lane.
