Weekend News Briefs: 11/12 – 11/14

Friday — A fight outside Lincoln High School Friday afternoon left two police officers with minor injuries. The officers were trying to stop an argument between a group of teenage girls outside the school around 3:15 p.m, when they requested backup due to the large crowd.

The officers were treated at the hospital for minor injuries, and more than five students were arrested. There’s no word yet on what led to the fight.

Saturday –– A 22-year-old man is dead after a car accident late Saturday night. According to a police report, the driver was ejected from the pickup he was driving after speeding and losing control around 11:45 p.m. The car flipped over and crashed into NovaCare on the 3700-block of Morrell Avenue in Morrell Park. A 22-year-old passenger is being treated for injuries at Aria Health-Torresdale.
