Weekend Mutt Strut is a field day for dogs

PAWS might actually have found the antidote for people who hate the Mummers.

Saturday’s Mutt Strut in South Philly, home of the strut, features costumed dogs competing for prizes.

More than 1,000 dogs and their owners are expected to show up at FDR park for the costume contest, “Ask the Vet” booth, dog obstacle/agility course, pet portraits, grooming, training tips, microchipping and food trucks.

This is the fifth annual Strut, and the 1.5 mile walk through the park will raise money for the Philadelphia Animal Welfare Society. Don’t think you’re escaping the canine event without actual Mummers. They’ll be kicking off the whole affair.
