Website error accidentally admits 61 to University of Delaware hopefuls

Over-achievers got a punch in the gut last week when they were mistakenly accepted to the University of Delaware. The extra-curricular-packed, meticulously filed applications proved temporarily successful for 61 out-of-state high school seniors who were informed via a university website they’d been accepted. They had, in fact, not.

As John Mussoni reports for WHYY, the mistake was fixed within a day, and the university contacted each student to report the bad news and apologize.

Bet that experience made the college choice process less stressful.
