Waterfront development group hires designer for multi-purpose trail
The RBA Group, a firm of architects, engineers and planners with offices in Philadelphia, New York and elsewhere, was hired to design a multi-purpose trail along the length of the Central Delaware Waterfront.
The Delaware River Waterfront Corporation Board voted Friday to pay up to $175,000 for the work.
The trail is a key component of the Master Plan for the Central Delaware, as it will link the public spaces that will be spread along the waterfront, about every half-mile. DRWC Director of Planning Sarah Thorp said RBA’s work will provide more specific detail on trail materials and design than the plan does, so that their will be consistency among parts of the trail completed at different times. Philadelphia firm Brown & Keener is now a division of RBA.
