Watch: Emergency landing on Route 72 caught on camera

A mounted camera caught the miraculous emergency landing of a small plane on Route 72 last Sunday.

The Stafford Township Police Department released a video today showing the plane descending just feet from vehicles and landing on the center median.

The incident unfolded just after 10 a.m. near Home Depot.

According to the initial police investigation, the small single engine plane was carrying students from the Skydive East Coast school when it lost power, forcing the pilot to land on the highway’s grass median, according to the Stafford Township Police Department.

No vehicles were involved. One skydive instructor was treated for a small cut on his arm.

Police closed the left lane in both directions for approximately 90 minutes.

The Federal Aviation Administration is continuing the investigation.
