Warming trend has begun, lasts through early next week

There’s still a chill in the air, but temperatures have rebounded from yesterday’s bitter cold and will now slowly rise through Monday, when highs will be in the low 60s. We’ll drop back to the 40s next Wednesday.

The wind has shifted to mainly west-southwest throughout the state, so temperatures are rising as warmer air arrives from the south (the northwest flow we had for a few days delivered the bitter Canadian air). Not a bad day for walking on the beach in Ocean City, picture above courtesy of TheSurfersView.com.

Expect generally low to mid 50s today, slightly warmer Friday and Saturday, near 60 on Sunday, and low 60s on Monday. It’ll be mainly sunny through Sunday, when showers are possible ahead of a cold front that will move through on Monday.

Improving conditions on Tuesday, but high temperatures will drop back to the low 50s, then colder air arrives on Wednesday.
