Walkway closed: Ben Franklin Bridge south walkway set to close for repairs

Walkers who enjoy the Ben Franklin Bridge walkway will only be able to enjoy it in one direction next week.

The southbound side of the walkway is set to close Wednesday for repairs.

The Gloucester County Times reports the south walkway will remain closed until further notice.

In the meantime, walkers can use the walkway’s northbound side, which will be open from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily.

The Gloucester County Times says walkers should be advised the Fifth Street pedestrian tunnel is closed in Camden.

On Sunday, September 18, the walkway will be filled with people for the “City of Hope” annual charity event, which raises money for research and treatment of Breast Cancer.
