The Toms River Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance with an ongoing investigation into thefts at supermarkets in township.

In one instance, video surveillance captured footage of a woman, pictured above, stealing a 65-year-old woman’s purse from a shopping cart at Shoprite on Route 37 in the fall of 2013.

“We believe she continues to prey on elderly females and hope this footage aids in her apprehension,” said police spokesman Ralph Stocco. “This suspect may be involved in more recent thefts that have not been caught on camera.”

The suspect, described as in her twenties and approximately 5-feet, 5-inches tall with dark hair, is wearing a shirt that says “Attitude Served Daily” and appears to get into a dark red colored older, boxy style Ford Mustang, Stocco said.
