Vice president rallies support for Lentz

Joe Biden is part of a wave of national leaders appearing in Pennsylvania to boost turnout for Tuesday’s election.

Democrats are bringing in a host of national leaders to boost turnout for Tuesday’s election. Vice President Joe Biden visited Delaware County Wednesday.

Biden spoke to about 300 people at a gym in Wayne about Democratic Congressional candidate Bryan Lentz. His message to the partisan crowd was simple.

“This election’s going to be close. They’re counting on us, not to have the energy. They’re counting on our folks who’ve been knocked down, who’ve been given that straight left, they’re counting on them not getting up,” he said.

“Get up! Get up! It’s time to get up folks and go knock on those doors!”

Money has poured into the race from outside groups. Polls show Lentz in a close battle for the 7th District seat with Republican Pat Meehan.
