Vets examine cause of three dolphin deaths in South Jersey

It’s not clear yet what the cause is, but three dolphins have died in the last week around the South Jersey Shore.

Mondays death near the Barnegat Bay was the third, closely following deaths in Lower Township and Ocean City.
The Press of Atlantic City reports the dolphins are being examined, but necropsy results could take at least a week.

Dolphin stranding isn’t uncommon, but several factors could contribute to the sometimes fatal event — diet, disease and possibly humans’ use of sonar.
