Veteran officer remembered this morning at the Cathedral Basilica

    Funeral services for Philadelphia Police Officer Brian Lorenzo are this morning at the Cathedral Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul.

    The veteran motorcycle cop was killed by an alleged drunk driver, John Leck, early Sunday morning.

    Police say Leck was driving the wrong way on Interstate 95 in Philadelphia when he hit the officer.

    Lorenzo was married with three children.

    Authorities say there will be a number of traffic detours and temporary street closings around the cathedral today.

    The viewing for Officer Lorenzo begins at 7 a.m. and the funeral mass is scheduled for 11 a.m. 

    Burial will take place this afternoon in Resurrection Cemetery in Bensalem.
