Both universities said in statements Sunday that only personnel providing essential services should report to work on the Philadelphia campuses those days.

The University of Pennsylvania said classes will resume with a normal schedule on Wednesday. Officials said a crisis management team is monitoring the situation, and has made preparations to ensure the safety of those who will be on campus during the storm. Updates are to be posted on the university’s main public safety website and its public safety website. Faculty, staff and students can also call 215-898-MELT (215-898-6358) for recorded updates.
