UPenn students fight for gun law enforcement based on latest statistics

Homicide data from 2008 shows Pennsylvania ranks second in the nation for black homicide victimization. Released last week, the study by the Violence Policy Center in DC says the commonwealth is second only to Missouri.
CeaseFirePA, which has teamed up with the University of Pennsylvania’s Undergraduate Assembly, says it’s not just lax gun laws that result in the state’s high numbers. The two are now working on a resolution to uphold the state’s current gun laws in an effort to bring Pennsylvania’s ranking down and make students of the West Philadelphia campus feel safer.
